The Shadow episodes have been "cleaned", background noise removed, as best as possible. Moreover, the volume has been normalized to -10 db which is best suited for the spoken word such as old time radio and audiobooks.

Subject: Welles and Johnstone were lousy
Bret Morrison was the BEST Shadow as well as the longest-running.

By the way, Conde-Nast will be after you to remove these again---they are still copyrighted.

All of these are an excellent representation of the Golden Age "Shadow" shows.

Welles was great as the "first" Shadow in a fully scripted & cast show. Next up was Bill Johnstone, and, lastly, Brett Morrison.

Morrison was the longest running, but Johnstone & Welles are my personal favorites.

"The Shadow" was an Historic Milestone in Golden Age Radio mystery/drama...and should never be forgotten for its importance to the genre'.
